It’s not been the start to the Vanarama National League many expected for one of the close season favourites.
After beating Solihull Moors on August 28th, many expected Rovers to put together a run to put them back in contention for a promotion place.
But defeat to Dover Athletic last weekend set that plan back - and Mellon knows their season needs a kick start and that has got to start with three points against Barrow.
“We know we should be in a better position in the league table than we are,” Mellon said this afternoon.
“But we’re working very hard to fix that, the players are working their socks off every day in training.
“We know we need to convert our chances. Last season we were and we were in the lead in a lot of games, so we need to do that and get going again. We believe that when we do that, we can go on a run.
“The standards which we set and the expectations that we put on ourselves is that we want to win every game we take part in, and then we want to play well, so we’ll continue to work towards that.”
